Balance the Brainwaves

With our friends we often exaggerate the good in them and quickly forgive  them if they make a mistake, plus, we cheer them on!  Those are the best kinds of friends to have!  Compared to the person who always complains, always talks about “someday” and never seems to be totally happy… what does that do to your energy?  Well, what type of conversations are you having with yourself?  Don’t pretend like you don’t talk to yourself all day long… it’s all in your head, and everyone does it, so just see how you line up with these examples.
Compare these thoughts:
I’m  so flabby My body responds perfectly to what I eat and how hard I exercise!
I’m grumpy after 8 p.m. I choose happiness around the clock; going to bed early makes me smile in my sleep!
My kids always whine I’m teaching my kids how to use “nice” voices and they are doing better everyday.
My husband doesn’t appreciate all the work I do around here My husband works hard each day, just like I do.  I take the time to thank him, and it is becoming easier for him to recognize what I’ve done.
I never have time to do what I love What I do with each hour of the day is up to me, and I love life enough to live it FULL OUT right now, and do what makes me happy so I can, in turn, make others happy!
Just reading the first column all at once, put your hands on your face and FEEL the expression you have; probably nothing, surely the absence of a smile… now read column 2…………………
Go ahead, read it out loud.  See what saying nice things to yourself will do for YOURSELF!
This week, tap into positive thinking and speaking, not to be a cheese ball, but because that’s what we’re designed to experience.
Write your “old” personal dialogue with the “new” replacement, right here, right now!
Because in the end, the loudest voice of all is your own; so CHOOSE to make it a kind and empowering one.

The Brilliance in Balance

When I started 7th grade, and went from one class to another, seven times all in the same day, I thought it was impossible to actually learn anything at all!  How could it work that 50 minutes per subject would be enough for me to actually absorb a thing?  Especially when I was largely concerned about the other students (BOYS) in the classroom more than the actual content!  Well, I don’t know how soon I realized it was quite a brilliant system, but I know it now!

Is it possible to do laundry all day Monday, make all the meals on Tuesday, sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, and dust, all day Wednesday, hang out with my friends all day Thursday, work out all day Friday….  Okay, you get the gist.  It IS possible, but absolutely unrealistic, and quite impractical too.  There must be a balance!

My quest this year is to find the perfect balance in my life of what I need and what I can give in all categories of my life: spiritual, emotional, physical, mental, social, & financial.  The greatest reason to seek out the beauty of balance is the peace it brings, as well as the access to power.  Like a Mercedes Benz that has crooked wheels, it can be comfortable, stylish, and promising, but it can’t get anywhere fast!  I want to go places I’ve never been before, do things I’ve never tried before, and impact more people than I ever have before!  All while being an awesome mom, wife, and homemaker.

By aspiring for balance in my life, it will open up time and space for me to write a book, get all my family history in order (scrapbooking), compose my first song, and afford a home that I have never before dreamed would be possible.  Most of all, it will allow me time to recognize and act on inspiration, strengthen my relationships to God, family, and friends!  It’s like when you see an awesome commercial for your favorite restaurant and it makes your mouth water… I’m hungry for balance, are you?!  Let’s gain it together and report on the before and after affects of finding it.

So, I turn the table, if you had greater balance in your life, what would be available to you that is currently unattainable?

faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment,
you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals,
and values are in balance.” -Brian Tracy
